Ferrari F14T

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

Seems stable so far.

The F14-T looks very stable indeed =D>

Is it possible to have airflow without any seperations?

The Ferrari looks planted in that footage. And I'm pretty psyched about the sound of these cars :-)

Of course it looks stable, it's pootling around several seconds off the pace! Wait until you see it being pushed, then decide if it looks stable.

With that slow times we don't really know how planted is it. Maybe last two days we will see more.

True but, the others are slower and look less planted.
Not that I think it means anything. Too soon for the teams to be worried about setups and lap times.
Funny that the one that looked "planted" was the CT-05!

Anyone noticed the difference in gears selected for the "SS"? Are they going thru some kind of routine to use all of the gears on this tests?

Kimi seemed to be quite comfortable applying firm throttle going into the last corner before the main straight:

We won't really know until at least Qualifying at Melbourne.

Again another video, he seems to have no issues with rear grip whether that's due to something improved in the mechanical engineering side or in terms of finding the "silver bullet" in aerodynamics...I honestly have no idea. What do you guys think?

If someone said to me that you can have three wishes, my first would have been to get into racing, my second to be in Formula 1, my third to drive for Ferrari.

Actually, at low speeds the cars will look less stable, as the aero will not really be working yet. I agree, the Ferrari looks not bad at all there.

We have one single picture about the front of Ferrari. Is soon to say that are a separation of airflow.

Then i ask...it could be a problem to have that separation for aerodinamics?

Why are there no marking on Pirelli tires?

I think that separation we talk about is purposely incorporated in nose cone design.
As I see it, goal is to maximize flow under the nose, between turning vanes.

And I think that is achievable, and flow separation point is right where it should be:

Excuse me, my Photoshop skills are non existent.

Lime green - air flow that pass between FW pylons.
Blue - air flow that is redirected under the nose

Basically, we are again talking about Coanda effect. :D
But this time in horizontal plane.

These are Pirelli's Winter tires especially for Jerez, since the surface and temperature would make other tires grain a lot.

Very early short shift. Still looks ok though.
