i think its a bit strange they don't come out much and don't run long

Am I right in thinking the S-duct takes air from below the nose and pumps it out above the nose by the Total logo?

In a time where getting air under the nose is so important, why don't they switch it around? Have an inlet on the top which feeds air through and underneath the nose?

RB10 has a huge undercut below engine/cooling outlet. I didn't notice that until now.
