Yes, but the nose used by Nico yesterday was painted.BorisTheBlade wrote:On the differently painted nose:
According to AmuS Eye witnesses are swearing that it had a big hole on top at Silverstone. Maybe this was photoshopped for the studio shots and what we are seeing at jerez is indeed just a nose test mule.

They are definitely trying different things with the nose.
Meh... I think it's for the better that you didn't get to design it For me personally it lacks sophistication and there's too much black. Sure, the original livery isn't exactly for my taste as well - why did they put black on it at all? It's a silver arrow. But the fading colors (black on the engine cover, ugly Petronas-green) help to add some elegance.thomin wrote:On a different note, had Mercedes asked me to chime in on the livery, here's what the W05 could have ended up with:

Well, I guess tastes differ. Personally, I don't like the gradients at all, at least not on a Mercedes. I'd also like an all silver design of course, but since they went with black, I chose the logical conclusion.the user wrote:Meh... I think the No-holes rule denies you this solution, no matter if you add a vanity panel in some way..ferrari used a hole some years agothomin wrote:Since I was in the mood for photoshopping already, I also produced this:

I wonder, would this be legal? this nose would have a single U-shaped tip, but then the Lotus solution behind it.
Yeah, makes sense. How does Red Bull get around this rule with their S-duct?diego.liv wrote:I think the No-holes rule denies you this solution, no matter if you add a vanity panel in some way..ferrari used a hole some years agothomin wrote:Since I was in the mood for photoshopping already, I also produced this:

I noticed this too, but not post abut that. But it came into my mind if you can make the engine-gearbox point movable around the center axis? I don't say this is Merceds case, but just wondering if it would be legal.ForMuLaOne wrote:I get your point. As i look closer i believe that this is just a change in camber. the car itself seems to stay horizontal while the wheels are angled. Maybe they improved the suspension in a way that keeps the car aero stable but now also helps the tires in an innovative way.FoxHound wrote:In pictures 5 and 6 that forza kindly posted, you can clearly see the car leaning through the corners.
I have not seen this behaviour as pronounced as I have on the mercedes lineage starting with the W02.
