Lotus E22 Renault

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

And if you look carefully on whole car, you'll notice that floor around rear left wheel is "weird".
Also, sidepod flow conditioner seems unpainted, just plain carbon with TOTAL sticker on it. (OK, it could be just optical illusion)

Very crude, unfinished car.

This seems to be the first real picture of the whole car. If you have more pictures please post or link them.

Where they're pointing that blower doesn't instill confidence.

I would be amazed if it's not standard protocol up and down the grid with the new engines.

Yup.
That's why I'm still not sold on it. Compared to the Merc solution (and a few others) this looks like some massive blocking of the airflow to the floor especially since with the significant length the longitudinal increase of the boundary layer on the inner sides of the tusks will leave pretty little effective cross section for free airflow to the T-Tray area.
I wonder if they could have vents on the inner sides to remove/reduce the boundary layers.

Using CotrellGP's image, looks like hole at the base of the sidepod.
Plus - am I seeing the F/W endplate arrangement right?

Not a hole. That part of the bodywork is just black and can be opened...
Leading arm of the lower front wishbone seems thicker than the other one. They combined it with the steering arms it seems., like the R30...

I was looking at that too, if this is real this might be the championship winning car. I'm looking forward to Bahrain even more after this pic...

Don't think there is DRD, all I see is a regular rear wing pillar and due to picture angle looks like it's connected to the cooling outlet in a DRD way, but it's not.
