Red Bull RB10 Renault

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

I'd have thought the piston wouldn't have made it around the lap if it was knocking.

Newey admits the aero was designed aggresively to optimize performance. Remember how badly Dr. Helmut Markko and CEO Mateschitz slammed Magneti Marelli for the alternator failures? I have a feeling this Renault problem could escalate into a media frenzy with an inevitable separation between Red Bull and Renault.
Was it true that Renault engines are the most expensive on the grid?

Yes, but Red Bull are not paying for Renault's engines.

According to AMuS Liveticker

"Wir haben gestern Red Bull-Berater Helmut Marko im Flugzeug getroffen. Er hat uns verraten, dass man mit einem Notplan in diesen Test geht. Red Bull hat zwei Konfigurationen für den RB10, um die Temperaturprobleme unter der Verkleidung zu lösen. Renault hat einen Teil seiner Probleme gelöst, aber noch nicht alle. Jetzt hilft nur Daumendrücken."

Translation (sorry, my english has become bad :wtf: ):
Yesterday we we've met RB Helmut Marko on our flight. He told us, that they go to the test with an emergency-plan. RBR has two Configurations for the RB10, to solve the temperature issues under the bopdywork. Renault has solved some, but not all issues. now keep fingers crossed"

IMO, RB will have the ability to tackle those problems that they're encountering. As they are the four consecutive championships leader team. With clever and smart elites in the team, I'm definitely looking forward to the Bahrain test. Unless they are encountering with engine issues, that RB may not be able to handle it. But let's see what will come up at Bahrain :)
