The black livery on the back of the engine cover looks good, but seem it's mat instead of glossy. Looks like it isn't just aesthetic choice but more like some heat shielding material.

I read somewhere that they saved weight by simply not applying paint to that area.

It doesn't seems like pure carbon to me.

Look at this picture http://i.imgur.com/863TNZW.jpg see the shark fin, thats pure carbon and compare it to the engine cover, there is not the carbon structure and it's covered with some kind of material (IMO heat resistant).

No, nothing serious, the car was back out pretty soon after they got it back, so minor issue, but major smoke.

Yes on the launch picture it is pure carbon. I looked for Jerez picture and there it looks pure carbon too - http://www.formule1.nl/media/uploads/me ... 669.17.jpg

But the new one look different to me.

Where's Ferrari's major update package?

Had you read this thread thoroughy you would have known that it was said that they'll have:
- engine update for the first Bahrein test
- aero update for the second

Oil burning, very probable from turbocharger.
