Can you provide a source for Mclaren's fuel worries please?Bart111 wrote:Hi guys, I have been reading this forum for quite a long time but have never posted anything. So this is my firts time
I've heard news about McLaren being concerned with the excesive fuel consumption. Has anyone else heard it too?
Paddy Lowe said a couple of days ago that the 100kg fuel limit was "sometimes very frustrating".
If that's not the case with other engines, we could see Merc-powered cars winning quali by quite a margine and then having to go slower than the competition in the race. To me it seems Merc concentrated more on power while Ferrari's philosophy is more about being smooth and fuel saving. In this case, at least in the early part of the season, aerodynamics would be much less important (that's what Newey said). What do you think?

Was just thinking the same while I checked out that picture. Like I've said before, I'm pretty sure there's more than aero things going on with those bell shaped components. Convinced of some geo/ride height adjustments with various loadings/aero pressure, etc. May have an impact on other parts, hence thicker pull rod??beelsebob wrote:McLaren's pull rod looks a lot thicker than it has done in previous years, and a lot thicker than other cars. I wonder if that's a side effect of the louvre suspension increasing loads?
