Sauber C33 Ferrari

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

Look at the upwash formed by the exhaust heat haze! pic.twitter.com/VAB0CogYCG via @KevTs

Impressive angle
yes.

About the same angle but with a much better quality(copy link to see in in higher res)

What caught my attention is that the car is not under heavy braking here, if any at all. Still, look the amount of rake they are running in Bahrain

On an different and curious note, look how far down the upwash of airflow, under the rear wing, gets

Is my eye deceiving me or is the leading edge of the white stripe on the rear of the sidepods conceiving an air scoop or some sort of rear barge board?

Thats not rly far down, i think it was in the Red Bull thread we had a comparison of flowwiz on car with and without beam wing and there you could see how far down the upwash is.

From the pics I have seen, Sauber seems to be the one running the most rake with their car. I can't see how they giving a good seal to it, though

On another nore, in this pic it's not visible, but C33's rear wing's end plates are very simple. I guess with their very poor resources they can't develop many things simultaneously.

Re: Sauber C33 Ferrari

they look like the same double skinned heatsheilds as used around rear wishbones, the holes introduce cooling air into the void between the fairing and the strcutural parts

My best guess is that theire is some DRS hydraulics thing (hydraulic valve, hose connector).
