All I have heard, is the tyres are a lot more durable. Paul Hembery said they will last longer. So surely this means the tyres this year will be slower over a single lap. Im not sure yet what tyres Rosberg used this morning to do the 1.33.662 but im sure we will find out. Plus you have to factor in we are only at the 2nd test, where as last years Bahrain GP was at the end of April. In 2 months time the cars will be faster than today, So id go as far as saying the W05 will be faster than the W04 on a single lap. and the W04 was a single lap specialist

Thanks guys. I missed that. So on the supersofts , will be in the 1.32's as I heard the difference is roughly 3/4 of a second between the Softs and Super Softs.

No. New tires are 0,5-0,8s slower than 2013 tires according to button.

AMUS confirm Rosberg was still on softs

11:25 Rosberg has launched its second run on soft tires and again lit a pink time on the monitor: 1:33.283 min - again just under four tenths faster. That's incredible.

To not do so is o deprive power from the mgu-h, and given that this will be a fairly large fine tuning problem, I can't see any reason why you'd spend track time running in a completely unrepresentative state.
The only reason I can think of is to try and get the cars up to Monza speed to test something?

AMuS:
12:01 Button comes back to the pits. He was reared on his journey to 1.34,957 minutes brand tires "soft".

Merc vs McLaren vs Ferrari (i think they are sandbagging)
Finishing races is important, but racing is more important.

All the footage I have seen so far, I saw Kimi and Alonso struggling coming out low speed corners. I have a feeling that Ferrari lacks a lot of rear downforce at the moment. Button did 2 interviews one with SKY and one with BBC and everything hinted to that Mercedes had a big advantage even comparing it with his own McLaren.
Irvine:"If you don't have a good car you can't win it, unless you are Michael or Senna. Lots of guys won in Adrian Newey's cars, big deal. Adrian is the real genius out there, there is Senna, there is Michael and there is Newey. They were the three great talents."

I would venture an opinion, that Mercedes has more intelligent "system" to apply the power to rear wheels out of slow corners. It results in something like traction control, when applied smartly to the MGU-K.If rear braking is done electronically thru MGU-K modulation in charging, why can't it be done while providing power?

Seems to me that Mercedes as a company is far hungrier to win in F1 than anyone else. Ferrari as usual is all talk in the wind and Renault have fooled themselves after continuous RB success.

Was Perez going to better his own time or Nico's overall best?

08:36 We have a red flag. Perez, who was on course to set a new best time for the day, is the only car not to make it back to the pits.
