Red Bull RB10 Renault

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

Certainly a significant lack of 'whirring' and the high pitch sequeeling of the ERS that is evident on the other cars. Probably a good indication that the KERS (i dont care what its called now, its KERS) regen isnt anywhere near at full potential

The high pitched squealing is not caused by the ERS. It's the turbo. Which suggests that they're running the engines under low compression ratios o.O.

What do you think the device is mounted low on the bulkhead on yellow tipped posts?

Steering rack, with some kind of connector/connector housing on it (probably for mandatory TV cameras).

Maybe all this strategy talk is for the team thread?

So, back onto the RB10. Why no monkey seat on the RB? Surely with the exhaust blowing underneath they are essential this year?

Wait! They need sort out packaging first. That is last think to worry RB at the moment.

There was a lot of flow vis on the car during the last couple of days in bahrain, so they were clearly working on aero/performance in some capacity.

They don't even have the mandatory cameras mounted at the front. I would imagine the car that has run so far is a basic aero spec that they'll refine, but the fact it hasn't worked has delayed things somewhat.

I just wonder: If RedBull really had massive massive cooling probs, why are we not seeing a totally different cooling solution in Bahrain? There's not even some amateurish cut-outs, nothing. It still looks launch spec. We were all assuming them to have totally different cooling solutions come Bahrain, but it never happened....
