If he doesn't get any running today, he'll have a 200 lap deficit in testing. #-o

Thats a shame, although the way they have rotated their drivers, i guess it means that its Nico causing the damage to the car. So I guess its nothing to worry about. Aslong as he can get 100 laps in today, he will be fine. Nico only did 22 laps by lunch time yesterday and still managed over 100laps. So theres still time.

Hamilton has problems with the gearbox, according to AMUS
"9:55 We know the reason for Hamilton's late start of work. Niki Lauda just told us that the transmission had to be replaced. Apparently occurred while assembling an error. So no need to worry. Hamilton is to go onto the track soon."

Another update from AMUS about Mercedes's situation

"11:21 Bad news from Mercedes. It takes probably three quarters of an hour to the first run. The mechanics are just trying to stuff an oil leak in the gearbox."

Review of the Mercedes problems
1-9: FW failure
2-9: Gearbox issue
3-9: Electric issues
4-9: Brake by wire
5-9 : "small problems" (they didn't tell the nature of it)
6-9: Hydraulic failure
7-9 : Gearbox
8-9: Engine issues
9-9 - Gearbox + oil leak

If you say that that is normal during the testing time, that 90% of your running days you report a technical problem, or that you saw this situation on a Mercedes car in the last year's winter testing, or in actuality if that is similar with other team's problems (except the Renault powered cars), than I can say that you can continue to ignore the reality :(

EDD STRAW:
"There's no obvious damage - the car is all broadly intact. But the team struggled to roll the car into the garage. Something seemed to be inhibiting rolling when they were trying to back it in. Work is now going on underneath to work out why."

Maybe a problem with the gearbox?
