Mechanics all wearing gloves isn't a good sign at all, RB "energy recovery related" once more seems to be the weakest of all top teams.Owen.C93 wrote:http://www.formula1.com/wi/enlarge/sutt ... 2ma140.jpg
The car is on a wheelie trolley - there is no "rake" to be seen or talked about.Yurasyk wrote:Another view at the rake.

Actually the car lies on plank, so it shows well the angle between the chassis and a plank. We do not know if the wheelie is horizontal, though.raymondu999 wrote:The car is on a wheelie trolley - there is no "rake" to be seen or talked about.Yurasyk wrote:Another view at the rake.

It is a bit curious though how, although the suspension is 'resting', the rear wheels are touching the ground while the front wheels are a good 15cm in the air.raymondu999 wrote:The car is on a wheelie trolley - there is no "rake" to be seen or talked about.Yurasyk wrote:Another view at the rake.

lolz, I'm sure some people will be taking you seriously though and then you'll have to show them the elipsesPostmoe wrote:Yurasyk wrote:Another view at the rake.

Wow! Massive amount of front rake. I see lots of elipses, if they create the needed vortex to seal that... they will be unstoppable.
I'd noted some teams having a cooling blower attached to a hole in the roll hoop (I haven't seen it with all teams) but I never noticed that the air seems to not cool the complete compartiment. From this picture it seems all heat is coming out of the front of the sidepods, while under normal operation the hot air exits the car at the rear.Owen.C93 wrote:http://www.formula1.com/wi/enlarge/sutt ... 2ma140.jpg
That's just bonkers amount of rake. Button, Windsor and Hamilton may be onto something when they say RB is good in high speed.Yurasyk wrote:Another view at the rake.

Looks like the blower is plugged in to the hole behind the drivers head underneath the engine inlet - presumably to cool the turbo.Jef Patat wrote:I'd noted some teams having a cooling blower attached to a hole in the roll hoop (I haven't seen it with all teams) but I never noticed that the air seems to not cool the complete compartiment. Anyone has an idea why this is? What are they trying to cool with that blower? Is that just heat from the radiators (not related to the blower)?
Ok then, lets ignore the diagram ......... which one is more effective, under / above exhaust monkey seat ? how are they related to diffuser-flow extraction ?Phillyred wrote:The diagram to the right isn't that simple considering the other 90% of the car contributing to the flow of air at that point.
