Red Bull RB10 Renault

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

Which is not that great for an F1 car.
That doesn't change the fact that the travel can (and most likely will be) different for front and rear. The rear is likely to be set up much more softly to get the power down.
In compression but not likely in rebound past the static position, it just is not needed. Well, yeah that can add a few cm to the apparent rake but nothing drastic.
We still haven't seen other cars like that. I reckon Mercedes might be quite close.

Of course it will expand past the static position. When the car sits on the ground it loads the suspension and compresses it. Sure, not as much as when you have a lot of downforce on it, but it still does. A few cm would be sufficient to see the effect we're seeing here. the trolly is only about 5-10cm high, "a few cm" of suspension ease at the rear would account for enough that this becomes "just normal rake".

If I were Pirelli I would paint the special hard filming tyres to look like normal F1 tyres so it looks right in a TV advert.

I've watched some pics of the new RB10...and there is one thing, that I've noticed: in any of the pics there were no front cams. I think RBR was, AFAIK, the only team without the front cams.

Any reason for that?

EDIT: sorry, I've just seen, that this question was already asked several times.

Although to be fair, is that chirp around the time he apexes tyre squeal or something fancy in the PU?

ok, to be fair it's not the best "quality" ;-) ...but maybe the only available video from RBR "private" filming day

The Red Bull is the fastest 2014 car when it comes to high speed corners. That was revealed by Marko on ServusTV and Lauda confirmed it.

So, once the Renault engines are reliable in the Red Bull, we can expect Vettel and Ricciardo to be at the front.
Dear FIA, if you read this, please pm me for a redesign of the Technical Regulations to avoid finger nose shapes for 2016! :-)

I don't mean to be funny but neither of them two are engineers and neither team will have data from any other team, so I doubt that. Besides the fact that you would keep information/ claims like that secret in case it turned out to be false.
