Nice photo.Emerson.F wrote:The new front wing looks really developed.
That's optical illusion. It's still the old nose. If I'm correct, the new nose again didn't got through the crash tests, so they'll be running the old one for this weekend.GrandAxe wrote:Nice photo's.Emerson.F wrote:The new front wing looks really developed.

That's a new nose in the lower shot. You can see its shorter than the upper one, it seems to be lying totally behind the wing.

+1 That's how I see it too. Many claim that this didn't pass the crash test, but why bring it if it didn't pass? I think this is the new one that already passed the test and ready to attack. They brought both old and new so that they can choose which one will be most effective.GrandAxe wrote:Nice photo.Emerson.F wrote:The new front wing looks really developed.

Ahh yes, the car.hollus wrote:On topic, please, gentlemen. THE CAR.
There is already a thread for caption competitions.
That's the timing pod under the bat wing?SectorOne wrote:Nice Sevach, look at that bat wing. Beautiful.
Oh for goodness sake! It is NOT a new nose! It is simply the perspective in the photo that may make it look like a new nose. The only thing that's different is the front WING, not the nose. It is the same height, now move on please!KnottyBwoy wrote:+1 That's how I see it too. Many claim that this didn't pass the crash test, but why bring it if it didn't pass? Speed? i thought the pitot tube did the speed but maybe they also use GPS?Blackout wrote:That's the speed/ride height/slip angle laser sensor pod.
scarbs wrote: The sensor uses two lasers and two sensors, one detects the road speed and the other slip. Slip angle is the angle of the car to the direction of travel. This is used along with steering angle to detect the front ends behaviour, for example a lot of steering angle and a small angle suggests understeer, as the tyres aren’t turning the car enough.
Speed is sensed by this device as well as the pitot tubes on the top of the car, as they can only detect air speed, which is the cars road speed plus any wind speed
