A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.
There are clearly three small slots sitting right behind the main plane of the wind there, a strange place to put them but I'm guessing they are helping to disperse some pressure from below the wing by exhausting it through the endplate as well as from under it.
IF the end plates do have slots behind the wing, which is a more interesting conversation at this point anyway, my guess is that they're somehow linked to DRS.
Red Bull hasn't run traditional end plate slots over the wing at all this year, presumably because the slot gap between the main plane and the flap appears to be set at, or near, the maximum 15mm allowed by 3.10.1. A slot-gap that large isn't likely to cause a massive need to relieve pressure in order to reduce vorticity from the wing tips. But, that lack of slots could change the way the wing "stalls" when DRS is activated, or even how air flow reattaches once DRS is disengaged. You want both of those things to happen as quickly and orderly as possible.
Enter the new slots? I dunno.
Absent that, I can't think of a reason why you'd want to increase pressure behind the wing. Teams tend to spend a lot of time and money to reduce pressure in that area as much as possible, because that local lack of pressure is called downforce.

Max power is not at 15k rpm and no one will run 15k rpm unless 8th gear where they'll need those revs. Just saying..
I think 15000 rpm will be used in some turns, especially the longer lasting ones.
Earlier this year it has been mentioned by Cowell that the engines will NOT go far north than 11000 rpm cause of fuel consumption <-> fuel effiency
Maybe Newey has realized the same complexity as nature did with sun spots...they should reveal the core of the sun and therefore should be the brightest/hottest part of the surface yet they are the coldest and darkest part. Maybe the same physics factors are at work here.
I think I've cracked genious Newey plan to hide front camera pods inside nosecone in order to make impossible filming of suspicious splitter and stay movements by a looking backward TV camera.
From the first time I saw the rear of the RB10 (and E22), I asked myself at which temperature and speed does the hot air exit the bodywork?

Slower than the free stream air on the exterior of the car. In fact Redbull use the high velocity air and hence subsequently low pressure air to draw the air out of the body work to increase the effectiveness of the cooling

I am not sure how much cooling outlet's air is slower than outside air. Continuity equation holds - so it has more or less the same speed as inlet air - bar inlet-outlet section ratio.
How muche slower the speed at the inlet of the raidtor is?

Hi guys, can someone tell what this is circled in yellow please. There is one the same on the other side but it looks green inside as opposed to red like this one.

That picture was damn confusing; it looked like the pillar was actually resting on the exhaust, but optical illusion messed up the view between the pillar and the RW endplate on the background.
