Red Bull RB10 Renault

1. Blue arrows : possible the corresponding slots for the holes in the inner RWEP?
2. Yellow circle : very curious bulbous structure ... maybe they have a passive DRS and the green arrow shows us the holes that are feeding the supposed channel inside it?
3. Magenta circle and pink arrow : did they have had it before?
4. Pink arrow : they are allowed to have a Gurney onto this carbon fiber covers? it`s not applying the same rule like suspensions have?

1. Possibly. Or a reflection of something next to the car.
2. No passive DRS. Bulbous because of the piping that powers the proper DRS flap + green holes look like fixings.
3. Not sure
4. Looks more like the whole item is locally thickened. Look where it abuts the crash structure and you can see the upper surface is flat and just runs to the thick training edge.
If you are more fortunate than others, build a larger table not a taller fence.

What is the main difference of the locations?

Monkey seat helping the diffuser rather than the wing. Cameras hidden so as not to disturb vortexes. Stuff to reduce the drag (read downforce!) of the rear wing...
How much downforce if the floor of this monster producing?!

This may actually be incorrect, downforce may not be reduced by the floor slots. In aircraft the vertical wingtips (called winglets by boeing and wingtip fences/sharklets by Airbus) they actually reduce drag and help lift production. This is because the tip vortex effectively reduces the span of the wing that the vortex rotates around. By having the vertical wingtip you reduce the size and strength of the vortex effectively getting back most of the span of the wing you lost without the wingtip.

Force India has kinda of a double monkey seat, one in the RB10 position another where everyone else puts it.
I wonder if it will catch on.

ALOT!!

The redbull was on crazy rails in the wet!

In Q when everbody's engine power was equalized by rain this car is head and shoulders above the rest.

Right, which is how Hamilton was able to set a faster lap, despite going sideways for 50-100m. Alternatively, it could just be that the RB10 is a good car, but not quite there yet.

I expect it'll be on a par with the Merc once they've got as much running in as Mercedes have.

Exactly my point. the RB10 was on rails. Hamilton only got lucky that he could punch in more power with the full wets.

I think that the new slots in the rear are not for reducing drag, but to aid downforce of the rw.

They are placed below the wing profile - pressure is highr outside the endplates than inside in that zone

Rbr have had to fit the rw into the new legality box, so if the wing is aggressive the rear of it is steep, it needs slot bleeding from outside of rw not to stall. same as on the ouside of front wing endplate on most cars (for example f14t)

The more other stripped cars I see, the more I wonder why Newey has packged that much cooling space. The radiator area is so much bigger than any other cars (even Renault powered Teams) are running. Do they really need that much cooling? Or is it to bump engine efficency and/or power? :?:

One thing is the angle and probably width. I guess the idea was to get sidepods to be less bulkier, so they had to be narrow, which forced them to be longer and more angled.

That rear radiator doesn't look as nicely machined as one might expect. I wonder if that is something they've had to modify very recently.

Red Bulll have added 5 'u' holes to the bottom the diffuser, much like Mercedes' starter hole idea. (via @LuisFeF1)
