Lotus E22 Renault

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

i dont think rb10 has crumpled-pipes like e22, rb10 sidepod is mostly for heat exchanger, imo

When he ran into the gravel it looked like 30kp/h...I do not believe that this was only a brake problem. They were talking about a broken wire killing the battery...so maybe MGU K engaged all the time?

Grosjean left the track because his rear left suspension was broken. You can see it in the vid.

But it broke because he hit the wall when he lost rear end under braking. At least it looked that way.

But Gro said the susp broke before! I don't know.
Take a look at the Caterham and RBR thread Jagun ; )

New engine cover: (similar to the 3d Reder one)

Wow, that is interesting! I had the impression that rules forbid closed cross-sections like that. Or is cross-sectional rules only for certain dimensions relative to center-line and reference plane?

This kindergarten doesn't belong here. Broken suspension.

Like RedBull in Jerez... but RBR added the air outlets near the intercoolers, on each sidepod, while Lotus opend that outlet only on the left side near the rads...and the air-water intercooler? Many suspect Lotus is using an air-water one unlike the other Renaul teams.
But only on Grosjean's car AFAIK...

Hi all i don't browse the F1 section lots but i have some questions... it has probably been mentioned before, why is one of the tusks on the nose cone longer than the other, why is the exhaust exiting to one side and is it true they only test half of the car in the windtunnel and the other half CFD, thanks all.
