McLaren MP4-29 Mercedes

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

Maybe they will do a back to back performance comparison between the new and the old spec of nose, and where better to do that test, if not at the place where you've spend the majority of pre-season testing

I'm guessing either Spare Parts ore for Back to Back testing too. EB and JB have stated that all their Updates worked so i'm not too much concerned about that, more if the Updates will be enough to fight for the Podium come the EU Season.

Old FW vs New FW, Bahrein is the better place to test both. There won´t rain along the w´kend. =D>

Any shots of the Merc PU in the back of the Mclaren?

I'm curious how their exhaust and intake compares to the Mercedes.

IIRC the first shots of the Merc PU was from one of the McLarens. Try to look back in this thread. Around the Australian GP.

Please don't post about sponsors or car livery here the car threads, especially if you repeat pictures already posted 2 entries above yours. I'm just going to keep deleting these. You can repost over in the Team thread.

Basically a Mercedes article but as mclaren runs the merc engine it could go in here.
Not much of a 'revelation' I heard about the shaft running through the vee of the engine some time ago.
More interestingly is the aero benefits, it's simple mclaren just need to make the side pod openings smaller and as we all know that will improve airflow to the rear, easy....
Could mclaren bring their gearbox forward for abetter balance with the chunky suspension arms?
Just a fan's point of view
