Red Bull RB10 Renault

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

Of course it has to be, keel and crash section requirements aside, there is no front wing attached and the nose and front wing are one piece... Or am I missing something obvious?

Can they bring an incomplete car to scrutineering and install the nose there to keep something from public eyes?

I think you're right. You can see the split between nose and keel section here:

Looking at the exhaust manifold packaging, it's fairly obvious what those quickly added side pod air hoses where doing in testing.

Is the floor actually that close to the rear tire surface or are my eyes playing tricks on me?

The Renault engine just looks... messy, compared to the Merc engine seen in the back of the Force India. So much redirecting of things all over the place.

Lol you compare a power unit which is hidden behind a nice internal bodywork with a naked one?

FYI I think there is no official scrutineering until later in the weekend. However, teams are free to put their cars on the FIA rig to check dimensions, compliances, etc. against the relevant measurement rig.

It looks messy because it is packaged much much tighter.
Aside from the turbine and compressor inlet which is less spacially efficient than the mercedes i find that the packaging is very dense. Even the manifolds on the ground squeezed flat demonstrates this.

What i'm beggining to wonder though, is if Mercedes have any equipment in the fuel tank volume..
For Sure!!
