Th problem with the pit messages is we don't know if they are in context. Perhaps the team was wondering why after the first time they had told Lewis he was ok on fuel he hadn't gone faster.

They were telling lewis that he has saved enough fuel for the rest of the race and can now push but he wants to converse his tires more. The longer he stays on the softer and faster tire, the less time he will on the slower medium against rosberg at the end of the race.
