Red Bull RB10 Renault

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

Do they even need to be that big? If they were smaller, teams would find it easier to accommodate them. I don't care where the camera is as long as it's on the car and looking at something cool/looking forwards

Could be a Spare Part.

We will see. Since AMuS are the only site that reported the Camera Thing i'm not quite convinced it's true.

According to Pius Gassó they opened up the hole during testing. But FOM was still not happy. That nose looks like the one with the larger hole they used during testing. Perhaps the new nose will first arrive later this week.

Chances are they will not be having a new nose at all. With just 2 weeks between Barcelona and Monaco, it would be very difficult to develop and construct a new nose. For both cars. If any reasoning is involved, it'd be after Canada.

This should have been resolved sooner. And they should be given one grand prix to implement it.

But this should have been resolved before the first grand prix. At least it's cleared up now.

It doesn't require a new nose. The FIA/FOM can just make them attach the camera outside whether its good for aero or not.

Yeah, it doesn't require a new nose. The fairing above the camera is not structural for sure.

Anyone else see this as opportunity for RB10 to have a new nose entirely? As in, more MB style..

That's a good point, although RBR might convinced them otherwise. I guess we'll know soon enough!

Interesting.

I might be wrong but it looks to me as if the nose is wider towards the front and with a more pronouced waist than previously.
