The sawing behind the well looks to me like a driver feeling that the front tires are too light and searching to get a bit of grip.
He was a metre away from the barrier whereas his current pole lap was right up against it. So he's taken a different line into the corner. The sawing away was a little suspicious. But the bit he's liable to be punished for will be the reversing back up the escape road. He should have parked it up and gotten out of the way. By reversing he ensured he impeded Hamilton.alexx_88 wrote:Guys, he said that he braked later and locked the front. Wut?alexx_88 wrote: The sawing behind the well looks to me like a driver feeling that the front tires are too light and searching to get a bit of grip.
Nothing to investigate but in the opposite direction. You don't control losing car under braking in Monaco, damage can be random (suspension, gearbox), On-board camera shows it better. Many crashes looked like that in the early stages in Monaco.Emerson.F wrote:Under investigation..
Imo there's nothing to investigate. The whole pitlane says it was on purpose. Just look at how he's simulating a tankslapper way before the normal braking zone on a hotlap. Schumi Rascass..

He also shouldn't have had to back up knowing its the last minute of Q3 and there's more people on a hotlap.
He wasn't penalised for it. That was hard racing, but still considered within the limits. Granted, at the time I also judged it differently.Emerson.F wrote:what a scumbag move.
Yeah right clean sheet...

I feel it was a genuine mistake, but reversing back towards the track was bad of him. He only had to sit and wait 30 seconds, then could reverse back out to an empty track, but from the onboard, as soon as he stopped he was searching for reverse. so a penalty for that is what i feel should happen. The telemetry wont tell us anything, he braked later than normal, thats why he didnt make the corner, and he had to go in the escape road, or hit the wall. so nothing wrong there. and when he realised he was well out the way, he reversed back into the way. Interesting to see how this pans out, if he gets a penalty, it will be good to watch him tomorrow, if he doesnt, it will be a good heatedturbof1 wrote:I have my doubts about all of it. Did he made the mistake on purpose? Didn't he made the mistake on purpose but in a panic reaction backed up the track in order to stall Hamilton? Was everything genuine?
It does sound rediculous that Rosberg would do such a thing. He never ever showed any signs whatsoever in his past that could hint at him capable of doing that. From Schumacher we atleast know he would go to such extents, but Rosberg has a clean sheet.
Then again, it does look suspicious. I gues only the telemetry data, and not our failible judgement on video footage, will determine it.
If he had in mind from the beginning to impede Hamilton, he stops the car at first instance, no going to the back and then reversemyurr wrote:He was a metre away from the barrier whereas his current pole lap was right up against it. Sure, all the fanboys all across the pitlane are talking out of their ***.JimClarkFan wrote: Too late, the fanboys are out, jerking eachother off as usual.

From the BBC."I didn't know exactly where he was but once I was reversing I did see he was coming up. Of course that's not great, but that's the way it is."
- Rosberg
Thats why I say, he made a genuine mistake, then realise "---, im out the way, back it up a bit" IMORedragon wrote:If he had in mind from the beginning to impede Hamilton, he stops the car at first instance, no going to the back and then reversemyurr wrote:He was a metre away from the barrier whereas his current pole lap was right up against it. Not going to take the word fanboy into the mouth; there's enough to suspect, but not assume, a deliberate act. Though (most of) the people up and down the pitlane don't have the telemetry data that can give the most accurate representation of the driver's intentions. They can actually see on it if a driver intentionally tries to force an error or if it's genuine. This is how they got evidence, next to Piquet's testimony, in the infamous crash gate.Emerson.F wrote:Sure, all the fanboys all across the pitlane are talking out of their ***.JimClarkFan wrote: Too late, the fanboys are out, jerking eachother off as usual.
