No way that Lewis doesn't believe that Nico backing up wasn't intentional to cause a yellow, and reviewing the video won't clear that up at all. Won't matter if it was intentional or not, he knows he was on a lap that could have put him on pole.

I don't think he's going to deliberately take Nico out, but he may stick his nose down in St Devote and let Nico decide. Nico can either end up in the barrier and let Lewis limp back with a broken front wing, or let him through.

But he didn't impede anyone. It's perfectly legal to reverse back onto the track as long as you don't impede, which Nico didn't. And it's not like there wouldn't have been a yellow flag if Nico had been waiting further down the exit. That run-off space is needed, so no matter where he stands there will be a yellow flag. In fact, the fastest way to end the yellow flag is to get back onto the track ASAP in order to keep the yellow flag time to a minimum, so it makes perfect sense to reverse back and wait close to the track until a gap opens up.

Had Nico just left the car there, that would have been the end of the session as well. In that case, I bet all those conspiracy theorists would have said: "oh, he did that on purpose, he should have reversed back on track ASAP, the fact that he waited proves him guilty, blablabla..."

There is room for 4 or 5 cars down that escape road if he'd left it where he was the yellows would of defo stopped

I stand corrected. Reviewing the video the yellow came out as soon as Nico went down the exit and didn't end until he was back underway. Backing out had no bearing.

Had he left it at the end, they still would have left the flag out because of a person vulnerable to being hit. They don't mess around with that kind of stuff. They'll only drop the yellow once the driver is out of harms way, which means out of the car and behind the barrier.

If you think that, then I'm sorry but you have no idea about F1. We've seen this kind of thing over and over again over the years. If that car is parked there and another car loses it and crashed into it, hell may very well break lose. Even if the chance of that ever happening is small, they would never ever risk it.

Even at tracks where there's a lot more space, enough for 4-5 hundred cars, the yellow flags are always out until the car/driver is safely out of the way. To even contemplate that the yellow flag might be pulled is wishful thinking at best, but more likely simply denial.

And why? Only to vilify Rosberg? Really, is that what you need in order to enjoy F1? I seriously get the feeling that the media (particularly the British) and many fans desperately want another Prost/Senna storyline and they seize every opportunity to construct that narrative. Interviews by Lewis are blown out of proportion and ludicrous headlines are printed that don't encapsulate at all what was being said, so now Rosberg retaliating by playing dirty fits in perfectly into that narrative. But then I rather enjoy the real thing in front of me than the fairy tale.

I rechecked and official F1 app says new tires for top 6 first attempts excluding Kimi(not Alonso) who had only his bonus set left. Unless you have better source I'll stick with new tires for all.
I just triple checked and realized you're right. f1 app is bugged as hell.

You guys have no idea how pissed I am that I have to go to work tomorrow (I have to leave for work at 13.00...) And I can't record the race so will have to wait until the crappy highlights are on BBC iPlayer, which will probably be Monday...

It is when I work at the Co-Op... and only so I can have some money whilst I do my Masters... It should be illegal to work when the Monaco Grand Prix is on!

That would be quite counterproductive because then none of the drivers and mechanics could show up.
