This is a bit problematic, people seem to want to say "Vettel is struggling to adapt" kind of like saying "Vettel will beat you Ricciardo" but it would take quite a major shift in performances for Vettel to be consistently faster at this point or even faster at all.Cam wrote: Out of all the driver pairing battles, this one has the most explosive power. Sure Kimi v Alonso or Hamilton V Rosberg is good (but we all kinds figure which way they will all go), but a relative junior up against a 4 x WDC.... let's hope Vettels luck clears up and we can all finally put aside any 'conspiracys'
That's a bit harsh. Being able to flick your mind around how to drive a blown diffuser car is no mean feat. You have to tell your brain to smash on the throttle when for 20 years you've done the exact opposite. Vettel not only master that he developed it with the team into something no one else could match. That's pretty 'great' in my book.djos wrote:Yep, and once again proves that without a blown diffuser he's only a good driver, not a great driver!Vettel Maggot wrote:Vettel slower again. No. The team developed the car around his driving style, making it harder for any of his team mates to compete.Cam wrote:...he developed it with the team into something no one else could match. That's pretty 'great' in my book.
By "teammates" you mean teammate - Webber? So you agree the team developed the car and by default, the blown defuser, with Vettel? It was the drivers feedback that tweaked how well it worked. So the car was only as good as the driver could input. All those aero tweaks, engine maps etc all developed by Vettel (and Webber and Buemi as well, probably Ricciardo in there too among others). And it was Vettels ability to keep on throttle, that fed downforce, that improved grip, that increased corner speed, that culminated in faster lap times. Oh, and driving perfectly helped toounivex wrote:No. The team developed the car around his driving style, making it harder for any of his team mates to compete.Cam wrote:...he developed it with the team into something no one else could match. This was exacerbated by the blown diffuser, now that it is gone some of that advantage has gone too.
I feel multiple drivers could've beaten Vettel, had they been given an RB6,7,8, or 9.Cam wrote:That's a bit harsh. In this post, you claim not to like Vettel, yet I've come to consider you one of his and Red Bull's main advocates on F1T. Only Juzh and MNMracer seem to like Vettel more than you do. Nothing wrong with any of this. I just feel you falsely used "I don't like Vettel" to bolster your argument about how great he is.Cam wrote:By "teammates" you mean teammate - Webber? I don't like Vettel, but I'm smart enough to know he's good. Personally, even if he wins every race from this point on, there will always be something or some excuses people will find. And he's brought that on himself. Great driver, shite public relationist (is that even a word?).
He can begin to fix that this year with Ricciardo. If he's smart.
The point is The Helmet suspected a chassis problem simply because his favorite driver wasnt winning.turbof1 wrote:Ah no... . Not another conspiracy theory.
Marko suspected a chassis problem, specifically stating that he believed that even though he also said that at the time evidence had yet to be found.
Turns out Marko was just plain wrong. Not like it's the first time. There's nothing made up; they changed the chassis because they weren't sure. Then they made a press release saying they didn't find anything. It's as simple as crossing one item from the possible problem list.
Would you like me to slag him off? Because i do. I respect his achievements and I would post the same content to defend any other drive that was unfairly criticized. All people post here is garbage "any driver would have won". It's a moot point. And no evidence has been provided. Show me evidence another driver would have performed better, and I'll agree with you. Until then, it's just a biased non-factual opinion.Pierce89 wrote:In this post, you claim not to like Vettel, yet I've come to consider you one of his and Red Bull's main advocates on F1T. Yeah, but nobody's claiming Armstrong"s incredible skill got the US to the moon. They acknowledge it was mostly down to technology. This partial season looks like proving a lot of Vettel's accomplishments were also down to the technology.Cam wrote:I guess multiple people could've been the first to walk on the moon too, if they were in the same equipment.
