is that a new engine cover? More of a downward slope. Before it was linear.

The new Ferrari engine cover looks quite similar to that of Mclaren's.

As well as the BMW's.

Yes, great pics. Thanks.
Wow, I see lots of changes on the Ferrari.
-new nose cone w/ air inlet on tip
-nose camera fins moved higher & back
-revised shape of side pod to be more sculpted - shell logo more curved
-revised shape of side pod air deflectors - no droop
-revised engine cover profile w/ zebra mane like BMW's

I couldn't percieve if any changes were made to front wing, fins on top of side pod & rear wing.

the rear wing lost its curve (just like with RB3 and STR02) and the front one aquired a curve.

Both STR and RBR got a new rear wing (this one looks more simple)

+ STR got some sidepod winglets from RBR now, so the positioning of mirrors is the only difference now, right?

The "new" rear wing on the RB3 was used on and off since the start of the season.

This is a picture of DC's car in Sepang:

As you can see, the "new" rear wing is on. It was off in Australia and Bahrain. You might also want to check the
development blog at http://www.f1technical.net/development/, analysis no. 7, from the top.

Other than that, I think we should stick to the topic  .

Touché indeed...

Looks like they'll use it for high downforce tracks but it deffenitely has more drag.

For those of you who haven't noticed the change Ferrari's made to their sidepods:

[IMG:600:840]http://img293.imageshack.us/img293/7493 ... odslg0.jpg[/img]

The upper image is of the old car. You can see that the top of the sidepod that was before connected to the nose with a curved line, all the way to the little bulge, about where the Marlboro sticker starts, has been removed and it is now connected to the body in a straight line, making the nose look even longer than it was. The lower part of the sidepod is also less curved and its outer line kind of resembles that of Renault's. Instead of going towards the body, it goes straight down to the floor.

Funky, looks nearly as if they just sawed off the first 10-20cm off of the sidepods and smoothed the edges some. I wouldn't be suprised if that area underwent some further tweaking in the near future.
I think we have ourselves a nice engineeringbattle between Ferrari and McLaren this season :).

I also noticed that there is some change where the exhaust area is, on the older picture their is a lot more unpainted bodywork than there is on the new/recent one. I dont know if it is merely because of the paint, or if its due to different bodywork.

And a question; what effect does shortening the sidepods have? I know it's primarily for cooling adjustments due to lower temperatures. But how does it work exactly?
