Quite interesting! Could very well be possible. However, I'd wonder why they didn't bring it forward until now if that was the case.
So they started developing this design in 2003 with MP4-18A to bring out this wing in 2007? :lol: :lol: :lol:

Maybe they have already tested their new front wing on a straight line test last week to see if the new wing flex at high speed (most probably did flex). Anyone has pictures during their private testing last week???

this one first appeared in pre-season testing in Bahrain and been there in every GP... you must have been looking the other way :lol:
may have been, but it sure does look cute. i like it.

I wouldn't disagree with the assessment that the continuous nature of the mclaren element has to do with adjustability to some degree.

FLC's pic with the reintroduced fins inside the suspension area had me saying out loud "Christ! these things have a lot of elements these days!"

static balance
dynamic balance
static imbalance

I'm not sure if the element would flex. The profile and short chord length to me suggests it is more for cleaning up air over the suspension, and cockpit to get cleaner air to the rear wing, than getting signficant extra downforce at the front of the car. The shape of the wing looks pretty strong for this, an arc shape in the middle etc. Ok there may be flex, but I would not be at all suprised if it was within legal limits in it's current configuration.
