So was Nico sandbagging or did he just find his form when it counted?

Well Hamilton may have the edge in the race, he's better with fuel and he is better around here despite losing pole. Canada is always a good race. :D

Rosberg is better at the moment, but Hamilton is faster I think.

Well done to Rosberg. Outqualifying Hamilton on one of his fav tracks. So nice to see the Williams up there, too! I guess Vettel beating Ricciardo is noteworthy too, these days... :o

Alonso must be so pissed. To be widely regarded as the best driver and driving for the most successful team, yet never being able to get it together...

Alonso should never left Renault at first point... Anyway it's nice too see Rosberg out qualified Hamilton fair and square. Anyway the Mercedes advantage is not so big than I expected, it looks like Renault is slowly closing the gap race by race.
Looking forward to the race tommorow.

Wonder if both Mercedes drivers are benefiting equally from the sharing of data and if not will the team stick to their current policy to the end of the season.

Yes I'm surprised at the small gap too, particularly to a Red Bull, it looked like Williams would be the ones to push Mercedes.

As has been said above pole not so important here, fuel usage is though, Lewis should have a small advantage in this respect, I for one am looking forward to Lewis chasing down his team mate for once.

Great lap from Vettel too.

4/10ths deficit at an engine track.... hmmm not bad Renault!

Anyhow, I suspect Hamilton will have more of a chance of usurping Rosberg here. He made a mistake in the middle sector and still was a bollock hair off of him.
Come race day those looooong straights will help him overtake.

I only hope this will be half as epic as my wicked imagination envisages.

Probably not. If lewis is indeed inherently quicker without mistakes then rosberg will not be able to hold him off for long.

Crazy, the diff between P3 and P6 is 0.04 secs!

That is 4/100ths, not 4/10ths.

Nico got the pole fair and square this time. Hats off to him for pulling it off on one of Hamilton's strongest (maybe the strongest) tracks. It's gonna be interesting to see what Hamilton can do with the long DRS zone, and if he manages to overtake Nico, what then happens. Start is crucial though - if Ham loses 2nd at the start Nico will have it in the bag.

I'm going to stick my neck out here: Rosberg is the fastest man in F1 over 1 lap in the dry.

The reason to why I specify dry weather, is because rain is a bit of his weakness.

Rosberg's beating Hamilton 10-9 in dry qualifying as teammates, but in the wet he is 6-1 down.

I also think that he is faster than Vettel and Ricciardo (two other worthy contenders).

Pat Fry has to be fired asap , fast or ferrari will be destroyed
Fry is an ***hole , he has screwed ferrari since the day he has joined in...
I wondered how they managed to go from looking so much better yesterday to so far off today - I guess abandoning the updates is the answer!

I guess that had to feel as if they'd overheat if they left them on, because they seemed to lose a lot of performance.

I'm predicting a pitstop snafu for Hamilton AND the race goes handily to ROS. HAM has a checkered past with pitstop issues losing the race for him.
