Prodrive tunes the V8 Vantage

Post

Prodrive, of which, we have discussed about a lot have done their treatment on the baby Aston, the V8 Vantage. Its power is up from 380bhp to 425bhp!! Upgrade ioncludes ECU remapping, shredding off 9kgs from the car by using spl alloys a new exhaust system(louder, basically) and a carbon-fibre rear spoiler. No top speed claims or acceleration figures revealed yet.

i dont expect a very drastic improvement. 45hp more, 9kgs off and a rear wing. if anything the acceleration will decrease

because of the spoiler. they tend to add some drag which is pretty significant

Why would the acceleration decrease? It has more power and less weight, I think that it will increase

the formula for acceleration is a=f/m where m=mass and f=force, so reducing the mass and increasing the force applied by the engine will increase the acceleration, bearing in mind that the spoiler won't come into play until the car gets up to speed so it won't affect the initial acceleration much.

Well, i got the acceleration figures...0-60mph in 4.7sec..thats 0.3sec quicker than the std. V8 Vantage...and the function of the lip & rear spoiler is to increase high speed stability(inc by 45%)..of course some drag ll have to be encountered...plus one can adjust the growl level of the V8 by the adjustable valve..which is seen in all the current Astons...
