Can you guess the 7 resemblences?

In the drawings, it looks like the top one is from a lower down force setup, but other than that, what do you mean by 7 "resemblances". The newer wing very much resembles the old one, its just clearly more refined.

It was jokingly intended and was to imply just how much the wing has changed.

The bottom one was the one used during testing and the first 2 races; it actually was the lower downforce configuration, not the top one (the AoA is not completely clear in the drawing, but I made alterations to have the correct visual interpretation. Perspective is a b*tch when trying to draw modern f1 wings). The upcoming article will tell a lot more and might be on the site tommorrow.

I thought you meant it looked very much like the RB front wing when they took the (not sure what to call it) flap? to reduce drag leaving just the 7 elements. Very good vision to see the evolution of the curvature of the elements though, I for one hadn't noticed that.

Admittingly, the bottom drawing of the old wing was my first project. As you can tell, it's of a lesser quality. So some detailing is lost, but yes: mercedes has since then revised every small or big part on the front wing.

Interestingly for me, almost every team kept the monkey seat on the car after Monaco GP, despite two low DF and fast tracks ( Canada+Austria ). Did they found something in Monaco, or it's just a coincidence and every team planned this long before, just that they did not have time to test it properly? Maybe they just found out that every bit of rear DF is a benefit, no matter the drag?

Merc running larger central cooling exit in qualifying for some reason.

On the Sky coverage they mentioned the turbos are getting really hot this weekend, due to the lower air pressure causing faster turbine speeds. That might be a reason?

Hamilton locking both rears...signs of more ERS problems???
Favourite driver: Lando Norris
Favourite team: McLaren

Turned down the chance to meet Vettel at Silverstone in 2007. He was a test driver at the time and I didn't think it was worth queuing!! 🤦🏻‍♂️

Yeah, and Hamilton is the essential bio-mechanical part of the W05. You could say he's a fully integrated cyborg which made a very calculated bobo.

Let's move the Hamilton braking brainfart style to the team thread.

The need to make the ERS stronger for Hamilton it seems. He is pushing the ERS to it's limits.

Asking the ERS to slow the car in ten meters less of a braking zone is gonna cause problems for sure.

I think we might see the team address this by adding an inch or so to HAM's brake disk size. Less ERS braking but it should still be enough to charge the batteries as long as it is set correctly for each corner.

Mercedes have put out a new advert featuring their car, which of itself it's interesting. However if you look at the front wheels the rims are of a different design and the driveshaft has been opened to allow air to be blown from the brake ducts out the middle of the rim, in much the same way as Ferrari are currently doing. Is this another leak of an upcoming development, as with the shorter nose which was featured in adverts before the parts were run on the car, or just the marketing dept getting it wrong?

The inlets behind the snorkel are also missing, but the front wing and monkey seat appear to be the current design... very curious.

front wing is old actually, notice the lack of the rear upper cascade, and the lack of the two vertical flow conditioners either side of the upper cascades.

sidepod vanes are old as well. maybe an update which was planned but didn't work out? would make sense considering the last two races they have had high break temps?
