Do you think that we should see an extensive upgrade package on the Mclaren in Silverstone, compared to the other teams?

Hmm i honestly don't know what to expect from the Silverstone Package. We know Austria was only a Part of the Package, and there were many Changes.

So either we will get some big visible Updates (hopefully ^^) or the Silverstone Package is just to give the Austria Package the finishing Touch and make all Updates raceable. Or of course something in between. :D
I gave up on predictions for McLaren this year.

Eric Boullier said that Silverstone is the turning point of the season where we should see the big part of the package.
I'm still dreaming for smaller sidepods and tighter engine cover. What do you think about this two components? The new FW was seen, front and rear brake ducts were seen, a highly modified diffuser was seen, new concept on turning vanes was seen, only significant changes to the side pods and engine cover were not seen. Please take a view and give me an impression on my post about Mclaren's culture and characteristics in the Mercedes Team thread. It is posted there because it's a comparsion with Mercedes regarding which of the teams has a more german culture in their DNA. Not the appearence that one has the german flag on the car and listens the german anthem on the podium, but regarding the culture, characteristics and how operates in the F1 environment.

Have someone some infos about Matt Morris as engineering director? What are his atributes at Mclaren? Does he have influence on the design of the car? On Sauber he had some good ideas like small gearbox, tighter sidepods...

Smaller Sidepods and changes Cooling Exits seem quite possible. It would fit in the statement of EB about their new Aero Route around the Car.

Peter Prodromou will start with McLaren in September according to Ron Dennis's interview in ESPN F1.

This will be a shot in the arm for the new McLaren Honda partnership. However, I don't think it would be a game changer as most of the new car specification will be frozen by September.

The employment of Peter Prodromou is part of the long term plan of Mcl to go back to winning days and fight for championships - not a quick fix, so I'm pretty sure Peter will be a huge asset starting September at Woking.

They were running a lighter exhaust system too and had a couple of different floors in the trucks.

Still not sure how big the updates will be for Silverstone, changing to a different radiator layout is going to involve moving a lot of other parts around and could lead to the sort of packaging issues other teams had at the beginning of the season.

That said, confidence within the team seems to be quite high and although we're not winning it does seem to have started moving in the right direction.

Eric Boullier on the following facts

1. Mclaren expects a better season next year with a Honda engine despite already having the best engine in car already. It will have have huge benefits not only witht he development of the design, but also with the set up during the season.

2. He is sure the changes in the design and aero departments that were made in time by Mclaren will surely pay dividents next year, and they will have a competitive package.

3. And what is most important: Honda are on track with the development of the engine and are achieving the targets that were set for this phase of the year.

He also says the Red Bull is a better chassis than the W05, so, I would assume that's the consensus inside the paddock.

"Progression towards F1 and strengthing R&D automobile racing operaations
In preparation for Honda’s participation in Formua 1 from the 2015 season, and to stregthen its global automobile racing programs, the motorsport development team of Honda R&D has relocated to a new facility in Sakura City, Tochigi (close to the current automobile R&D centre). Engineers started working in this new facility in January 2014 where development of the new F1 power unit continues to make encouraging progress.

The Milton Keynes F1 European frontline operation facility will become operational in June of 2014, following the completion of engine dynamo and assembly facility installment."

Interesting facts about the actual state of Honda regarding F1 and their relation with Mclaren :D
