Ferrari F14T

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

You mean the more triangular looking slot? That was introduced back in Spain. Not sure if it was ever used since then though

The differences are:
-Just one slotgap in the main plane in front of the tyres, instead of 2
-Different slot in the endplate
-A shortened strake on top of the endplate

These "updates" have been around since Spain, but I don't believe they actually ran them yet during qualy and the race.

The entire center section of the diffuser is different, wider and more rounded in the transition from the center plank section of the floor. This floor was used in Austria.

Possible yes. I'd like to see both wings from a different perspective to make sure it isn't optical illusion.

The green arrow isn't an update - it's the flap having a lower angle.

All else is true, so a good spot for Pilatus and nicely done for you for showing the curves.

Yes! The green arrow isn't a update. I put it there only to show the difference (less downforce)
Thank you!

I also believe that is why they use one less slot gap in the new wing: the wing as a whole has less angle of attack, thus is less prone to stalling. Removing the slot gap will reduce drag.

They remodelled the leading of the main plane too. What I personally make out of it is that try to create some sort of venturi tunnel along its length. Further tweaks are made to the upper elements, but those could just be optimizations.

I don't know if its lower downforce per se. It could be that they try to have a more efficient wing - one that creates the same downforce level, but which would allow less overall AoA.
