Nice article on Sky Sports with Eric Boullier. However, the thing I find most interesting is towards the end of the article, where he call the MP-29, 29A, suggesting the possibility that if they didn't go well in Silverstone, they had a B-spec car ready?

I'm not surprised to be honest. As far as I can find the FRIC system on the McLarens is quite basic and therefore not overly complicated to remove rather than risk disqualification.

No, it's the same every year. 28A, 27A, 26A, ...

Tom Stallard will be Jenson Button’s race engineer from the German Grand Prix onwards.

Tom is a very intelligent and able engineer, who has worked in a variety of engineering roles within McLaren, including as Jenson Button’s performance engineer.

Jenson’s previous race engineer was Dave Robson. Dave is a very experienced and expert engineer, who has achieved many successes working alongside Jenson Button in recent years, and whose experience and expertise will now be exploited in a broader role within McLaren’s Formula 1 operation.

This move is an example of McLaren’s determination to optimise the deployment of its considerable engineering resource by developing the careers of all its engineers on an ongoing basis.

Ron Dennis has been trying to entice sponsors. He was about to lose Johnny Walker, so in an effort to gain more attention to a certain sponsor for the next 10 races new aero bits for people to stare at for countless hours. After the success of the "Acer duct" Acer's stock has tripled. Matter of fact going to pour myself a glass of ol Johnny right now.

Why did they use the gearboxes for six consecutive races?

Isn't that how long they need to run a box for? As I recall they haven't DNFed for awhile so haven't been able to break the sequence.

They have to run the same gearbox for 5 consecutive races. They did it for 6. This is what i dont understand-

That's because it's 6 consective races they have to run the same gearbox for, not 5.

Take a break... Mclaren's improvements are obvious. In normal conditions Jenson would have been in Q3 too. Magnussen was faster than both Red Bulls and Ferraris. Even if on a single lap it's a big step for Mclaren compared to where they were in April-May 2014, in China and Spain. They are closing the gap with Bulls and Ferraris on overall.

Yes, as predicted due to FRIC-ban. Now what is your point with the rear wing?

They changed Gear Ratios not transmission.

I think they can now only do that once a year so this is the Gear Ratios for the rest of the year!

Magnussen coming in for praise today, rightly so improving very nicely under the guidance of Boullier.

They changed the gearbox aswell, there is text above that we cant see but its a list of changing gearbox.

And as said above its 6 and not 5 races they need to last.
