Paul Ricard Testing

Post

These are some pictures from day 1 at Paul Richard that show some new things on the cars. If the new aerodynamics pieces are old, do not hesitate to tell us.
Looks like BMW now have those flaps near the suspension arms

New Ears for Toyota

The Mini rear Wing underneath the Rear Wing, it looks the wing meets up vertically in the middle with the other side of the mini wing.

Mclaren's Mini Rear Wing shape is different too

No Triple Mid wings, just two

Simon: Nils? You can close in now. Nils?
John McClane: [on the guard's phone] Attention! Attention! Nils is dead! I repeat, Nils is dead, ----head. So's his pal, and those four guys from the East German All-Stars, your boys at the bank? They're gonna be a little late.
Simon: [on the phone] John... in the back of the truck you're driving, there's $13 billon dollars worth in gold bullion. I wonder would a deal be out of the question?
John McClane: [on the phone] Yeah, I got a deal for you. Come out from that rock you're hiding under, and I'll drive this truck up your ass.

Also new sidepod winglets for TF. Now they aquired a piece that generates downforce by itself like in 2005 (TF105, EJ15 too)

R27 has new camera mountings infront of suspension for Paul Richard test. I believe thats all for Renault as far as I can tell. For day 1 at least.

No change there though, the camera is just on the other side of the nose cone, but looking at the first pic, the camera is there too just ahead of the upper front wishbone.

One change though is the livery on the mirrors and sidepod panels, where the advertisement for ELF was moved ;)

Honda have a whole raft of changes. New front and rear wings aswell as new sidepods.
"I was having a ---" - Kimi Riakkonens response to Martin Brundles questioning of why he had missed Peles presentation to Michael Schumacher before the Brazilian GP 2006.

Changes I noticed are

Honda - have gone for Mac style merge chimneys and pod wings & changed the paddle shape fins by the cockpit for simpler winglets

Toyota - Ran an aerofoil inside their pod wings

Williams - Doubled up the mid wings on the roll bar having only just added one for spain.

Red Bull - added a straight fence under the bargeboards either side of the floor (t tray) similar to the one Alonso broke in Spain

Scarbs....

Anyone got pics of Honda's wings?!

Now McLaren didn't use their bridge wing for the fast layout. Looks like they won't use it in Canada and USA. The `ears` aren't back tho.

STR03 aquired the winglets that are used by Red Bull since Sepang. Unlike RB3 they didn't move the mirrors from the sidepods though.

They are smaller than what the car was launched with ;)

And my guess is the relieve the high pressure build up there... there is normally alot of highpressure in that area, i tihnk, and my guess is they owrk like a venturi.

not sure tho, thats my guess.

It was only a matter of time... They will want the cooling effect for Canada because it is horible on brakes, also the aero benefit.
