The Race Car Of The Future?

Post

Sergio Rinland, an engineer and designer for Dunlop tires, has peered into his crystal ball and determined what the race car of the future will look like. I have to say the man has a very creative mind and qualifies as a true visionary. But are his ideas realistic or practical?

I report. You retort. 8)

Isn't he Sauber's old aero guy who pioneered the twin keel design ?

I like his idea. His design is reminiscent of the Redbull X concept (which i think is gorgeous), and the car actually looks decent for a car without wings. With oil becoming scarcer and scarcer, the onus of aero in the future will inevitably shift towards efficiency rather than a compromise between df/drag. However, i'm not fully prepared to let the howling engines go just yet 8)

Only ten years behind what we already knew.
I was asking Monaco to rip up the track and fit induction coils for no battery electric racing years ago.

If all race cars turn into lithe sprinters and there is no room left for brute power, then I no longer have any interest.
