Wow you're a sensitive Brit.autogyro wrote:Looks nothing like an E type.
E type is 'art'. Viper is pig ugly.
Keep it. I've been looking at older Vipers too but, I just cant shake the feeling my money would be better spent on a Vette.g-force_addict wrote:http://s30.postimg.org/qpj1zdfqp/Viper_chopped_off.jpg

Well if they keep trying for long enough they will end up with something that looks like an Aston Martin I suppose.WilliamsF1 wrote:Now that Sergio Marchionne owns dodge, the next one could be styled by the Italians.

The E type was the road development of the C and D types, I think the racing heritage is a tad better than the truck engined Viper or the plastic Vette.J.A.W. wrote:After pic looks cleaner, & Mopar Viper sure is a worthy/comp proven ( better racing record than XKE-type)..
.. addition to the fairly short production 'merican sports car list..
Best looking Vette -IMO- was the unit re-bodied for the 'Miami Vice' TV show - as a Ferrari Daytona Spider..
I'm sorry but no, the Jags do not have a better racing heritage. The Corvette and Viper have both wiped the competition off the map at times. All three vehicles have fairly equal racing heritages. As an aside Corvettes have had the best performance/dollar ratio of anything available for decades.autogyro wrote:The E type was the road development of the C and D types, I think the racing heritage is a tad better than the truck engined Viper or the plastic Vette.J.A.W. wrote:After pic looks cleaner, & Mopar Viper sure is a worthy/comp proven ( better racing record than XKE-type)..

When I was a consultant to Lotus and GM were in charge, I was involved in the power train of the joint venture corvette prototype. It was never put into production but was the best looking Vette if you like.
I cant post the drawings I have though could cost me money.
It was mid engined with a transverse version of the Turbo 400 auto box.
When GM sent the pre build transmission it wouldnt work.
So it was stripped and found that the GM engineers had put the friction and steel plates into the drums in the wrong order.
Carefree days.
