Positive thoughts for Bianchi... 8)
Generally I don't care about what people say. I have to be clear with myself. When everything goes well, people celebrate you, when you make mistakes people criticize you.

Did Hamilton just have a better setup for the (wet) race compromising his result in Q or is he just faster
Nico conceded Lewis was much faster today and no mention of setup differences. Nico mentioned the oversteer and said Lewis would've had it too and was not as comfortable with the handling.

Rosberg said he was simply not as comfortable with the Mercedes' handling as Hamilton.

"I was definitely not happy with the balance but we had pretty much the same set-up," he said.

Some news from French TV. Jules never stopped breathing on his own but is in a coma. His father says he is being operated on now.

They surely have to open his skull to reduce the pressure in the swollen brain (Decompressive craniectomy)

Personally I think they should run the same system as the WEC. Where as soon as they enter the yellow zone the cars are all limited to one speed, kind of like putting the pit lane limiter on. That way all drivers reduce their speed to something reasonable, and you don't get one being cheeky and going a bit faster, and you also don't get the issue of them not seeing waved flags, or claiming they didn't see them.
No that's dangerous, if you suddenly cut the power you can trigger off power oversteer which could result in a nasty crash. Putting the pit limiter on would be like going from 5th to 1st gear in a road car.

The crane shouldn't have been on the circuit unless the SC was out. There have been a few near misses this year in similar situations.

It's not fair to point fingers at anyone here, it's a whole multitude of things coming together to produce an unfortunately result.

We don't know if the FIA ask for the crane to recover the car, or if the marshall's took it upon themselves to recover the car.
There should be new flag rule long enough before crash site where driver will have time to react and will have to start slowing down (no sudden cut of power) to some speed limit. Of corse no overtaking would be alowed etc...

Wouldn't it be quiet easy to have an automatic speed limiter once double yellow is shown? As soon as double yellow is inforced Charlie pushes a butto and all cars switch to the boxing speed limit right away. Not to difficult from a technical point of view.

But probably too sudden for drivers, imagine being in a corner and they cut your power...

Your car would slow down. What's the problem?

Jules is my favourite and surely the most talented of the rookies at the lower end and I have a lot of hopes for his future.

Really hope he's okay.

Btw, did the safety car save Rosberg? His pace didn't seem very strong today especially compared to other teams at some parts of the race.

and what about pilot pushing "double yellow" limiter button on their own when safe ? Then aferward if someone don't push on it quick enough, penalty.

Sudden power cutoff at the corner may cause a spin. That's the problem.
Edit: the solution could be that the driver has to press himself a yellow-flag limiter. Then that power reduction will occur at the moment that driver is conscious of..

A better solution could be to just disengage the clutch automatically, this would cause no engine braking moment at the wheels.
And warn the driver with a flashing display 5 seconds ahead of the action!
Dear FIA, if you read this, please pm me for a redesign of the Technical Regulations to avoid finger nose shapes for 2016! :-)
