If i understood it correctly the drivers may not exceed a given sector time if the SC deploys. So even if the cars aren't caught by the SC they have to drive slower, so maybe a SC had helped here. BTW, i wonder what these target times look like in the rain. I don't think they use the same as in the dry?
In these times FIA can monitor everything at everytime. It would be easy to set a maximum speed or a minimum sector time. I hope t hey implement this in the future. I have always wondered why they consider a short lift of the accelarator pedal as slowing down. Nowadays the drivers slow down just that much that they can show the FiA that they've done something different to the laps before. This can hardly be considered as driving savely at the crash scene.
