1. Most wins in a season
If they win the remaining 3 races, they'll have 16. McLaren had 15 in 1988, likewise Ferrari in 2002 and 2004.
Already matched this record, and they will likely beat it in Abu Dhabi.
2. Most pole positions in a season
Because of Austria, they can now only match Red Bull's record of 18 poles in 2011.
Will likely be matched in Abu Dhabi.
3. Most podiums in a season
Ferrari had 29 in 2004. Mercedes currently has 26, this one is likely in the bag.
Has been beaten. Mercedes now have 30 podiums.
4. Most kilometers lead in a season
Mercedes are currently at 4,103 km. McLaren lead 4,622 km in 1988.
They've beat this record too. Mercedes now have lead 4,696 km.
5. Most 1-2 finishes in a season
Mercedes currently have 9 with 3 races to go. McLaren had 10 in 1988.
Beat this record, now have 11 one-twos.
6. Most front row lockouts in a season
Mercedes currently have 9. McLaren had 12 in 1988.
They can still match this record if they lock out the front row in Abu Dhabi.
7. Most consecutive 1-2 finishes
They've already matched Ferrari's 2002 record of 5 (Malaysia 'till Monaco).
Not only that, they could match it twice in one season if they get a one-two in Abu Dhabi.
8. Most consecutive front row lockouts
They have locked out every front row since Belgium (5 in a row). Has anyone ever done better? I'm uncertain.
Williams hold the record with 7 consecutive front row lockouts in 1992. Mercedes have matched them this season (Belgium - Brazil) and could go one better in Abu Dhabi.
