Why exactly?

I don't have an educated theory as to why, it's a simple shot in the dark gut feeling.
If someone said to me that you can have three wishes, my first would have been to get into racing, my second to be in Formula 1, my third to drive for Ferrari.

You mean the same way as in japan when RB was faster?
Sorry, did I miss something?
When seb and ric cleared bottas and massa they gained some 10s on the leading mercs in 10 laps.
I think you should look at this:

http://www.f1fanatic.co.uk/2014/10/06/2 ... ap-charts/

There was a period where they were closing in when Hamilton was following rosberg and their tyres were going off. But after the stop, the gap was increasing again as the mercs pulled away. It ended up pretty much the same gap as it was before they cleared the williams guys. They may've been able to match them on pace had they been right up their ass from the get go but to say they were faster, when they finished 30 and 40 seconds behind the mercs is a bold statement. It also seems that Red Bull went for a full wet set up where as the Mercs didn't. From everything else we've seen this season, I'd say the mercedes duo's advantage is even greater in the wet than in the dry.

It would have been nice if they made it possible to use the long version of the track for sportscar racing etc.

Here a shot of the full track in 1980 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qKCCP5rpUFQ

Any reports of drivers taking new engine parts? Some must be getting quite old
Alonso used an old one last week, so surely must be considering a penalty

You're letting your team preference jade the way you see things, Juzh. Hell, up until this season, you would ridicule anyone who said Vettel wasn't the best driver on the grid.

Edit: Maybe it was just mnmracer who attacked anyone who didn't think Vettel was the greatest. Speaking of which, I guess he feels too stupid to show his face lately.

yes, it's awfully nice and quiet this season regarding the fanboyism.

Unfortunately there is still the haterism regarding lewis, but alonso was hated too when he waved his hand in the cockpit when he got annoyed when he realised he was going to lose the title thanks to a russian.

Anyway....I think a restructured asphalt layer will have itś effects on the entire field. Speaking of Vettel, he had quite some good runs here, so I expect Vettel to be a tad more competetive in the RedBull here, especially compared to Ricciardo whom hasnt had the best of runs at Brasil in the past. Bottas is solid all year round but itś Felipés home grandprix so I think he's got some extra nation pride to boost his spirits.

Nico has got the unfortunate effects of having lost his nr.1 WDC position all year to Lewis after the last couple of races and after high hopes for Austin but still losing to lewis he won't go into Brazil with the best of mindset - yet, he MUST perform here to better his chances of getting his luck on in the final double-points race. He can't afford to have a DNF but he'll definately want to finish ahead of lewis............

I must say Alonso didnt do too bad either the last couple of races....

Let's go crazy here;

Nico & Lewis collide; Rosberg DNF and Lewis has a deja-vu with a car that doesnt want to work and ultimately parks in the garage.

Vettel has a mechanical error. Danny doesnt like the track at all.

Bottas and Massa are batteling for the win and Alonso comes and steals it away

1. Fernando Alonso
2. Valterri Bottas
3. Felipe Massa.
4. Jenson Button
5. Daniel Ricciardo
6. Kevin Magnussen

I want to see an exciting race after 2 races of major boredom. Russia was mindblowingly boring and Austin, well. It wasnt Russian-boring but it was still genuinly boresome.

Seems that they are very much questioning that rainy Sunday now. It would be nice to have at least a little something come in during the race...

I have never read a truer post. And i had totally forgot about mnmracer, He has left Juzh to fight a losing battle by himself. Atleast we can all see the big picture now .

The faster Mercedes driver was stuck behind the slower one.

And once Hamilton got passed Rosberg and pit for new inters, he was SEVERAL SECONDS faster than anyone else. Yes, that includes Vettel and Ricciardo.

And of course, Seb didn't finish 30 seconds behind Lewis because he had a "few cars to clear".

Dry or wet, hot or cold, Monza or Monaco, Mercedes have the fastest car in every condition, around every track. This seems to be somewhat difficult for some to swallow.

I'd say that Vettel is still a better wet-weather driver than Ricciardo, and if it does rain in the race, Seb will probably edge Dan out.

As for Rosberg's sake I hope the race is dry. Hamilton will smash the field if it rains. However, in dry conditions, Lewis has never been particularly impressive around this circuit, so Nico might have the edge.

I think Vettel / Hamilton / Alonso was very good in rain
