McLaren continue to make tiny steps at improving the MP4-29 toward the end of the season and as you can see when comparing the image taken above (by Giorgio Piola), with the one used previously, we can see that some small notches have been removed from both the trailing edge of the Endplate and the most rearward wing element. You'll note that the notches are not new just enlarged and so it seems that the team are keen to make these ad-hoc changes in order to increase how the flow moves around the front tyre. I'd be interested to know if they went to the expense of making a new endplate for this test as in reality a dremmel may well have dealt the same blow. However we can see that the shaping of the rear wing element has been re-designed, with the outer portion now forming a sort of Gurney, further enhancing the way in which the airflow is outwardly turned"

According to Sky, McLaren will be running a B-spec car in FP1 at Abu Dhabi. This should be the reported Large Prodromou Update Package.

I'm a bit perplexed about it though, surely we hope to god that it is faster than the current car, if that's is so, why don't they run the work b-spec car all weekend and see if it's a Mercedes beater?

Hopefully they just need to run it one day, they work with big amount of data of Mercedes. I wonder how many conclussions might we take about Honda PU by seeing this B car.

To me it's just an Upgrade Package like the others before. Boullier said a few races ago that everything they put on the Car from now on is 100% relevant for the 2015 Car. So if it works and fits within the 2014 regulations there will be a good chance they run it all Weekend.

The one at the back has a slightly flattened mouth and more exaggerated curve. Looks like they have a few variants for testing already.
