Ooops I posted about the front wheel rim covers in the thread about testing at silverstone.

One thing I didn't notice there though was the gap along one endge of the "frizbee". Wonder what that's there for?

must be to allow the brake dust to exit the wheel and to allow airflow for cooling..

Take a look at the picture above. The right one is from testing last week and to the left in the one from today at Magny-cours. I've noticed that Ferrari refined the connection point of the cockpit wings to perfection. On the other hand, Mclaren doesn't seem to put any effort in such things. Look at the way the connection point of their wing mirrors looks like, for example.
How much difference could it make, if at all? God is in the details? Is it just Italian styling obsession, pure technical or a little bit of both? Or could it be down to the color effect?

Yeah its difficult to see if such a thing could make a meaningful difference, but hey, these things do add up.

But it could be more psychological than anything else. With the team responsible in developing the F2007, putting this much care and attention to detail into the part proves that they're squeezing as much performance from the car as possible and this would surely push the team, motivating them.

What is that little cut out for?? Cockpit cooling??

Yes, perhaps Fellipe feels more comfortable in the heat than Kimi and wants to make full use of the new aero package. It would fit given their backgrounds.

Have you noticed them 'closing'/'pluging' the nose-hole of Kimi's car during the quali?

Did anyone else notice this development to the rear end of the F2007?
I cant recall if I ever saw it or not. But as I was going through some technical developments over at formula1.com I noticed it.
