I have always thought that part of the problem with the sound of new V6s was that FIA was still using old mics on the track, adjusted to high pitches of V10s and V8s. That opinion came from comparing amateur videos from race days or testing and some filming days videos with TV broadcast and I never heard the engines in real life, so I might be wrong.

Engines always Sound better on everything other than TV. Last Year we had a McLaren Video where they prepared for a standing Start. That Thing sounded amazing too.

Lets see what TV Broadcasters make of it.
