Mercedes AMG F1 W06 Speculation

Paddy recently stated w06 is entirely new. Saying they didn't carry over a number of items from w05 would be short sighted. The lineage is certainly there. This is the car I believe Costa had more to do with designing as opposed to Willis who I believed designed most of W05. The field better brace for another clock cleaning.

The Engine cover fin looks a bit bigger too!

So, that means the packaging got even better the fin is there to meet regulations. Also only the airbox no more extra inlets at the roll hoop. There is a lot of more space left compared to the W05. The space between the engine cover and the rear wing is much bigger. Well done Mercedes =D> .

Mercedes attempted to do this last year, as was shown with the launch spec car. Unfortunately it appears that the W05 required more cooling, so the ears beside the airbox were introduced and the size of the engine cover increased. Hopefully it has been sorted for 2015.

The kink of the exhaust pipe comes out so far that they have a very low cut engine cover, like Williams...

If this indeed is W06, it appears to have the W05 launch nose and MIGHTY RAKE.

That is not the W05 launch nose, it is definitely new for 2015. Also the 2014 launch spec nose does not conform to the 2015 tech regs.

Well what did people expect, the w05 was so far ahead of the competition that the car they raced in Abu Dhabi had the potential to win races this year. The w06 should just be a development of that world beater. Plus more will come, same for the rest of the teams.
