Mercedes AMG F1 W06

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

The new car looks absolutely stunning =D>
I notice they seem to have done a fair amount of work around the roll hoop. The ears have gone, single piller now instead of two and the neck is a good couple of inches further back. Plus the area behind the drivers head looks a little bit thinner and no cut outs.
Like mentioned, fine tuning and real attention to every detail and surface...

Absolutely amazing. The car looks incredibly neat. And they appear to be hitting it out the park already with 77 odd laps, twice what anyone else has run so far. Talk about hitting the ground running.

Rosberg completed 100 laps in the first day. The car is a beast.
"...and there, very much in flames, is Jacques Laffite's Ligier. That's obviously a turbo blaze, and of course, Laffite will be able to see that conflagration in his mirrors... he is coolly parking the car somewhere safe." Murray Walker, San Marino 1985

The turning vanes are there, just a bit further back than where you highlighted in red.

They are covered in flow vis

How does their nose start soo far back? All the other teams have the tip of the nose past the front of the leading edge of the wing. The Red Bull is not quite to the edge but the rest are way out ahead of the wing...

Because they didn't manage to pass the crash tests, according to AMuS Ferrari, Red Bull and Mclaren will change their nose as soon as they develop one that passes crash tests.

I don't know if anyone notices.. but the monkey seat is more like a monkey stadium!
I think what they have done is basically cut a beam wing in 3 pieces and place them one behind the other. It's a lot of surface area that they have there for the central 150mm.

Same one they ran last year at high DF tracks. I have to say there's a lot of carry over on the outside.

Lower wishbone gets incredibly wide later on. Do we have a better shot of it?
