Red Bull RB11 Renault

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

No replacement front wing in Jerez? Seems that's what you get for building the car in the last possible minute...

Kvyat binned it, and has effectively ended any meaningful running for the team until they can get a new front wing flown in.

most likely they'll glue it back on during a longer stop. they're doing reliability testing now so aero performance isn't that important. that's why they're just doing a couple laps at a time. when they need to stop for a longer time, they'll fix the FW.

gotta do what you can with what you have. and RB are doing just that.

Red Bull reportedly had a new front wing flown in. Could this be it? Perhaps they're testing something? I'm being dead serious here

other than trying to get as much air into the floor as possible, i don't see why. maybe they're trying to mess the minds of the competition? i'd still put my money on being forced to drive without a fw.

Horner confirmed that they have no replacement wing at the track before afternoon. Well done...

Are there any reports of Kvyat crashing? How the wing was damaged? It's not the first time there's a problem with a new front wing -- I remember same happening to Massa @Ferrari in 2009, to Trulli @Toyota 2009, and to Hamilton last year, who had a crash due to FW failure.
