What is that wire running along the nose?

I was curious about this. A day or two ago there was something I thought was a gopro on the right side of the nose, just under the camera mount. There was a wire running to it too. I thought it might've been a pressure gauge. Then someone asked why the innermost cascade elements were angled so high, since it serves no purpose. I'm wondering if the camera mounts are used to generate the intake vortex. PEACE.

Interesting that a lot of cars seem to be trying to maximise the space in front of the rear wheels but the Mercedes kind of reminds me of the red bull style tunnel from 2013.

Seems like they want to extend the bodywork towards the rear to keep the flow attached but let the air still go underneath.

aldo costa(skysport italia) : la w06 nn è un evoluzione della w05 come hanno detto in molti ma una macchina totalmente nuova...anche nel lay out ma preferisco nn entrare nei particolari..a jerez stiamo sempre girando con il serbatoio pieno..in assetto gara e quindi gli altri possono sapere in che posizione siamo..noi non possiamo sapere in che posizione è chi nn gira o gira con poca benzina...a barcellona 1 e soprattutto 2 ci concentreremo sulla prestazione pura...quando ci saranno tutti gli sviluppi per la prima gara..chiude parlando del sound : quest anno nn si puo stare senza cuffia ai box..il rumore è assordante..nulla a che vedere con i v8 ma molto meglio dell anno scorso

The W06 is an evolution of the W05, but still large parts of the layout have changed. We've been running the car with a full tank at all times so that no one can infer how fast we can run. We won't run with with light fuel or try to set up the car for performance until Barcelona, possibly the second test.

I find it kinda strange that a team will spill the beans as to how they were running... It now makes it easier to "infer how fast they can run"
If true, it's a very stupid and irresponsible comment by Aldo Costa...
Or LewisHamilton90 is making up articles to try and comfort himself with the idea that Merc and Lewis might not have it all their own way in 2015?

It does though rather reinforce my earlier comments about them being able to run significantly faster. I wouldn't be too surprised if we saw lap records at some of the less downforce dominated circuits this year (just barely). Though I expect at the downforcey circuits we'll still see them 5 seconds off the 2005 pace.

It's not the same as the "mysterious" article posted, Lewis just saying that they have a program, I guess all teams have programs? Nowhere is it stated that they are running Full tanks only... And not pushing.... PR

Agree with the underlined part. Not sure I trust the "full tanks, not pushing" post either.

Considering they've run the most laps by far, I think think the bolded part is a bit rich though.
