I remember Peter Windsor telling stories about his time at Williams. According to him stealing other teams' sponsors was a no-go back in the late 80s to early 90s (at least at Williams). Guess times have changed.

I guess it depends on what you define as "stealing other teams' sponsors". Approaching them and requesting their sponsorship whilst they are another teams sponsor is one thing, them aproaching you of their own accord because they think you are a better ROI is another. Do we know how it happened in this instance?

Didn't say it was news, just a general comment of success at Williams. So pleased for them, proper Grand Prix team.

Jerez Day Four

Driver: Felipe Massa
Chassis / Engine: FW37-01 / PU106B Hybrid
Location: Jerez de la Frontera 4.428km
Objectives: Aero work, systems and reliability checks
Weather: Mild and dry
Air & track temps: 9 - 14ºC / 8 - 16ºC

Felipe Massa: 1:23.116 (+2.275) 6th
Quickest Time: Kimi Raikkonen, Ferrari: 1:20.841

Rod Nelson, Chief Test & Support Engineer: Today was another trouble-free day and so we completed our programme for the week. Today’s focus was on aero and mechanical set-up, as well as working through systems reliability. We have highlighted areas we need to improve before Barcelona and leave here with a reliable package that is straight forward to work with.

Felipe Massa: The FW37 once again proved how reliable it was with an error free day. The car has been consistent over the last four days and we have made good progress. We have highlighted certain areas that need work and so will make sure the car is improving every time we take to the track. We have our feet on the ground and are focused on making this car quicker when testing continues in Barcelona.

Big improvement.
Why Williams doesn't do anything to disguise that is beyond me...

I hope they do too! It's great.

As far as the first test went, it appears the team were doing their own thing, much like in the FP1 sessions last season.

True Roadie, no reason to be worried about lack of performance.

Plus i trust the words of Bottas and Massa about the car more than when Maldonado called the 2013 car the best he's ever driven.
This car looks like a sensible development of the 36, it should be good, how good depends on how much teams like Ferrari improved.

Yeah we saw how the team added performance in line with their expectation throughout the course of last season to the FW36, despite the lack of visual changes to the car.

One would hope that if a similar development process was followed for the FW37, it too will perform well.

We just have to see what the other teams look like as we build up to the first race.

The FW37 was on track today in Jerez. Susie Wolff was driving the car for filming day.

Had anyone seen the usual "S" for Senna logo on the FW37 yet?
