There was definitely a crash, photos floating around of the car bumping down the wall. The tyre marks show no attempt to straighten the wheel so he had almost certainly blacked out.

Could he get ERS shock? But how? The monoque must act and be build in "Faraday cage" and grounded.

There are speculations floating around the web, that it might be an electrical shock from KERS.

Yes I read that. Anyway official speech of Mclaren is taking quite some time.

This is what Vettel said about the crash. He was right behind alonso: "Er war direkt vor mir. Er war relativ langsam - ich schätze so 150 km/h. Er ist dann einfach rechts rübergezogen - es sah gar nicht wie ein Unfall aus. Er ist dann ein paar mal an der Mauer angeschlagen. Dann habe ich ihn aus den Augen verloren."

Basically he said that Alonso was right infront of him, that he was going quite slow - 150km/h and that he simply pulled over to the right, that it didn't look like an accident. He then hit the wall a couple of times and then he lost sight of him.

An update from McLaren: According to the team, the G-Force measuring 'alarm' was triggered during the crash, hence Fernando being taken to hospital. There's no word on whether he has suffered any injuries or not, but the team have repeated that he was concious upon his arrival at the medical centre and talking to the doctors.

Eric Boullier, the McLaren team boss, has also told us that there was very little damage done to the MP4-30 so they may run again today - Jenson Button was scheduled to be in the car this afternoon even before Alonso's accident.

Still no word from the team on the cause of the crash.

From the pics it looks pretty clear that he blacked out for whatever reason, luckily at a relatively low speed.

If you look at the car, all wheels are attached, rear wing is still there and a quote from McLaren themselves that the car is not serious damaged. Really sounds like he had some kind of attack or seasure. Another possibility is that he hit something in the head or went over a bump so hard he had some shivers trough his spine.

if he blackedout or something... it would be career ending... lets hope not... :-(

Wondering how on earth any G-Force alarm was trigged going by those pics. And how he had to be helped out of the car? Weird, and no one is providing a straight answer either.

Maybe it was triggered by mistake? In case something indeed went wrong with the ERS?

the sensor is automatically triggered, so no mistake possible. I believe that is 100% PR bullshit

He did hit a concrete wall, that's why.

He turned in to wall at 150 km/h so that should not have triggered it.
