Agreed..

& the strong propensity for 'pattern recognition' we show, such as the 'Fibonacci numbers' evident
in plants, or even diatoms certainly indicates this.

But some people, such as Archimedes/Tesla/Einstein do have an active conceptual mindbridge as well..

Indeed they did but no longer.
They brought us a long way in a short time.
It is strange that there appears today to be no one on the horizon of nearly their ability.
Science (and engineering even), have come to a time of stagnation IMO.
Constantly re inventing things that went before.

Perhaps there is an 'outside' reason for this?

Did everyone believe everything they said when they were alive? It took years for others to verify many of their theories, so we can't really say that their counterparts, in the unexplored areas of nanophysics and materials for instance, won't gain a similar status. Plus, with communication being so good today (thank you internet!), we don't hear about many of the debunked theories before they are dropped, so we don't really know who's "coming".
I personally believe (strongly) that the stagnation is due to funding - if the corporations see the chance to make lots of money with a new invention they will invest, otherwise the universities are forced to split the money they have among many scientists with many ideas...but no money to prove them, since testing is so expensive.

We built the large hadron collider not so long ago, a hyperloop will be built from San Fransisco to Los Angeles, there´s breakthrough´s in science almost daily and we´re always at the brink of the known.

I don´t buy the "science and engineering has stagnated" one bit.
Not all science costs 100 billion dollars to research either.

Edit: forgot we´re SENDING PEOPLE TO MARS as well.

Agree, but that´s what I was trying to point... How could we found them?

We can´t. Even if we build a telescope 1.000.000 times better than hubble and we can see any planets surface, we still couldn´t see if there´s a civilization because those planets are millions light years far so we would be watching how was that planet millions years back, not today, so we simply can´t find any coetaneous civilization because of this simple reason

The only chance to realice if there´s any other civilization out there is if they come here and show up themselves, if not we can´t know by ourselves

Agree, but then again we know only a fraction of the universe. There might be a way to travel faster than speed of light contained in dark matter, but we just don't know it yet. Everything is possible until we know all of it!

Wouldn't that consideration be dependent on all other planetary systems capable of sustaining life to be on the same organic emergence time scale as our very own? To assume everything is on the same development path as us I think is a stretch. Furthermore we know through paleontology that there have been some serious earth crisis events in our past that stunted our emergence by millions of years...

Yes that´s true.

we could expect to see anything from before life kicked off to some super-advanced civilization.

Life could be just a very short time span chapter in a much longer time development of the universe.
Something that briefly occurs somewhere between the formation of planets and the formation of black holes.
We are pretty arrogant to suppose life as we know it to be of any real significance in this process.

Hang on a second, Archimedes was 200BC, Tesla was 19th C AD, and Einstein was 20C AD. If those are your ref points then we've recently had a glut.

Since you say those were the only scientists of note in two millennia, then it'd be greedy to hope for another in your lifetime.

Except when you realize life on our planet has existed for almost 30% of the universe´s history.
Seems like we´ll have good chances of finding life, given the planet can create and sustain it.

This is very true and a lot of people tend to forget it, especially in these American documentaries...

Talking about FTL, many answers might be found just looking at ordinary matter, which keeps on surprising us.
For example, i find very intriguing the quantum entanglement, a phenomenon that has no actual explanation at the moment, which, however, opens the door to many theories that would otherwise belong to the science-fiction universe. That gives us the hope, if not the certainty, that some sort of FTL data transfer may be possible.
Personally, i find this much more exciting than the amount of solar masses of a black hole! :)

Everything i´ve read about quantum entanglement say it´s not possible.
It appears to be instantaneous but you can´t send information with it.
