Didn't watch the second one but based on times and with all the fuel/engine ifs:
- Ferrari looks very allright, Malaysia should be even more interesting with better Williams comparison.
- it doesn't look like McLaren will be on the podium, you know like Red Bull last season ;-)
- RB slow on long runs
- Lotus - under one second slower than Williams, 0,2 behind Toro Rosso plus what, 0,5s for engine? So chassis 0,7 s slower, all similar to tests and very "optimistic".

Mercedes cars looed planted on the track...they are 1 sec clear. But maybe the gap dropped than last year. I think the real gap last year was 2 secs in the beginning of the year.

Albert track is not a track where you can draw definite conclusions other than Mercedes seems untouchable. Malaysia and china are better places to judge the order between Ferrari Williams and Redbull.

I tried this and I had understeer, I tried that and I had oversteer, at the end of the corner I just run out of talent

Can anybody tell me where can I find the Official F1 files with the Lap Times info, Speed trap, Sector times.
It seems that these kind of information is unavaiable, at least in the sites that usuallt have it, don't appear anymore.

Impressive pace by Kimi. Sebastian seriously needs to improve his race pace. Last season he used to be fast at one lap but Ricciardo was better on race. It could happen the same this season and Vettel can accept this.
I think its actually not that bad for Vettel, the biggest differince is in the last couple od laps and he had some lock-ups and he was running a bit wide then
But even with a no so big difference Kimi is still faster, I still think that Sebastian needs to improve a little bit his race pace. Anyway Ferrari looks good.
are you serious? the fact that vettel is on the slower tire doesnt matter in your "analysis"?

Ferrari got quicker as the fuel burned off which points to keeping tyres in great shape - in recent years, despite lower fuel, times have tended to drop off on runs of this length due to tyre deg.

Can't help but think of the scalabroni (sp?) drawings where he demonstrated the tyre saving benefits of Ferrari's suspension changes.

They're running de-tuned engine mode. Come Q3 they'll be on the same pace as other merc powered stuff.

You're saying that with a de-tuned engine mode, they are still around .7 seconds faster than the 3rd place car? :wtf:

Last year they only had 0.5 s on the third car (Alonso in the Ferrari).

Seems their advantage has grown. However last year in qualifying the difference was less then a tenth. We'll see how it evolves.

not looking good for Red Bull at all based on these quotes from Marko and Horner at f1today.net
Marko:"We are promised again and again 'Next time it will be better, the test results are encouraging'. But if you have an engine failure after 50 kilometres, that is incomprehensible,"
With all the engines, driveability is significantly worse than in testing. We wanted an improvement and we have taken a step back," he said. "The gap to the top now is frightening,"
Horner: "The actual power is the same as we had in Abu Dhabi last year,"
